Trunk-or-Treat 2024
🎃 Trunk-or-Treat Community Event 🎃
Solids was thrilled to host a free Trunk-or-Treat event for families in our community! The event provided a safe and welcoming space for children to enjoy Halloween festivities while also highlighting the importance of connection, wellness, and community support.
👻 Highlights from the event included 🚗 Decorated Trunks filled with treats and creative themes from our staff and volunteers 🍬 Candy because what is Halloween without yummy snacks! 👗 Amazing Costumes—from tiny witches and superheroes to full family-themed outfits.

Easter Egg Hunt 2025
🐰 Free Easter Community Event 🐰
Solids was honored to host a free community celebration designed to bring families and children, together for a day of joy, connection, and wellness. The event was held at Schofield Park and it was a wonderful opportunity to combine holiday fun with a focus on mental health and community support.
Families enjoyed activities such as and 🐣 Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages, 🎨 Arts & Crafts Corner with coloring, painting, and mindfulness-based art activities, 🧘 Relaxation Stations featuring massages and 🍎 Healthy Snacks & Refreshments shared with the community. Don’t forget the free ICECREAM!

🎓 Mental Health Awareness Scholarship Award 🎓
Solids is proud to announce the launch of our Solids Scholarship, created to support and celebrate local high school students who demonstrate resilience, compassion, and a commitment to promoting mental health.
This year’s scholarship was awarded to Malinna Figueroa, a dedicated high school student who has shown leadership in raising awareness about mental health, supporting peers, and inspiring others through kindness and determination. We are wishing you much luck and success at Elm College in Massachusetts.

Men's Mental Health 2024
🏈 Men’s Mental Health Awareness Event with Waterbury Career Academy Football Team 🏈
Solids was honored to host a free men’s mental health talk with the Waterbury Career Academy football team. The event focused on breaking the stigma around mental health, encouraging young men to speak openly about their emotions, and emphasizing the importance of resilience both on and off the field.
💬 During the presentation, our clinician discussed the impact of stress, pressure, and performance expectations on athletes. Recognizing signs of depression, anxiety, and burnout. Building healthy coping skills and stress-management techniques. The importance of teamwork, brotherhood, and checking in on one another.

Gilmartin Girls Group 2025
🌸 Girls’ Mental Health Group with Art Therapy 🌸
Solids was excited to host a Girls’ Mental Health Group designed to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space for young women. The group focused on promoting self-expression, emotional regulation, and confidence-building while helping participants explore their feelings in creative ways.
✨ Group Highlights included 🎨 Art Therapy Activities—participants engaged drawing and collage-making to express emotions and explore personal strengths. Art served as a safe outlet to process feelings that may be difficult to put into words. 💬 Open Discussions on self-esteem, healthy friendships, peer pressure, and navigating social media. 🤝 Peer Support—participants shared their experiences and built connections with other young women facing similar challenges.
